Vancouver Police Department is warning the public to take precautions regarding bank card scams. The scam of fraudsters acting as bank employees has seen an upward rising trend. Issuing a social media communique, VPD explained that The victims are often tricked to believing their cards have been compromised and provide personal information.

According to VPD, the Victims are often asked to cut their card but to leave the chip intact, provide their address and the card to a courier sent to their home.

The public are advised that the financial institutions will not be asking for their pin numbers or will not send a courrier to their homes.
