Prime Minister Paetongtarn Suspended Over Ethics Complaint
Thailand’s Constitutional Court suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Tuesday as it reviews a petition filed by 36 senators. The complaint accuses the 38-year-old leader of dishonesty and violating ethical standards in connection to a leaked phone call with Cambodia’s former premier, Hun Sen. The court has yet to determine whether she will be officially removed from office, but the decision has already triggered a temporary power shift in the country’s leadership.
